The original video actually shows Deepender Hooda criticizing the BJP's 'non-stop Haryana' slogan and pointing out the state's lack of progress.
What is the claim?
A one-minute video featuring Rohtak Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Deepender Hooda is circulating on social media, with claims that he acknowledged Haryana's continuous development under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration.
The video was posted by the official BJP Haryana account on X (formerly Twitter), with a caption in Hindi that translates to: “Deepender Hooda has also admitted that Haryana is developing nonstop under the BJP government. Deepender Hooda ji, please explain this to your father and the entire Congress party.”
The clip shows an anchor interviewing Hooda, who is presented with various BJP advertisements highlighting achievements such as improved electricity supply, clean drinking water, and rising employment rates. The anchor questions Hooda on these claims, suggesting they indicate progress while the opposition denies it. Hooda responds, “I partially agree with all the advertisements that you showed.” The video ends there. This post has received 98,300 views and 1,200 likes. Archived versions can be viewed here, here, and here.
The video has also been shared on Facebook with similar claims. Archived versions of these posts are available here, here, and here.

These claims are circulating ahead of the 2024 Haryana Legislative Assembly elections, scheduled for October 1, with counting to take place on October 4.
However, our investigation shows that the video has been edited and shared out of context.
What are the facts?
A reverse image search of a screenshot from the viral clip led us to a longer version of the interview on YouTube (archived here), posted by senior Indian journalist Ajit Anjum on August 26, 2024. The video is titled, “Deepender Hooda Exclusive: Interview before Haryana elections.”
The full interview reveals that Hooda did not stop at saying he partially agrees. In the complete video, Hooda continues, “The BJP is campaigning with the 'non-stop Haryana' slogan in this election, and I agree—non-stop Haryana in unemployment, non-stop Haryana in crime, non-stop Haryana in alcohol, non-stop Haryana in harassment of farmers, non-stop Haryana in the suffering of poor people, non-stop Haryana in the number of youth migrating abroad, non-stop Haryana in every matter, non-stop in lathi charges, non-stop protests in Haryana. There is non-stop neglect of the public, driven by the government’s arrogance. The BJP government’s arrogance has persisted in the state for ten years.”
The full interview clearly shows that Hooda was criticizing the BJP government’s ‘non-stop Haryana’ slogan, not admitting to the BJP’s progress in the state.
The verdict
An edited video of Deepender Hooda criticizing the BJP's ‘non-stop Haryana’ slogan has been misleadingly shared to suggest he admitted Haryana is "developing non-stop" under the BJP government.
