He also addressed the nation and said that they were celebrating the milestone in the context of unprecedented times that of the pandemic. Zimbabwe celebrated its 40th independence day in Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo with no gathering of people. It quoted the Minister Mutsvangwa as saying that there will be no pomp and fanfare and all the same they will celebrate in homes for the reasons of medical safety.
