In addition, Trump also received the highest negative rating when compared to other leaders including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. However, Putin and Jinping's ratings were also in the negative, with 43 percent expressing no confidence in Jinping and 28 percent expressing confidence in him. Across 32 countries surveyed, a median of 64 percent say they do not have confidence in Trump to do the right thing in world affairs, while just 29 percent expressed confidence in him. A handful of U.S. allies including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Canada and Australia gave their lowest favorable view of the U.S. on record since Pew began its polling two decades ago, according to Business Insider.
