Secret Service briefly moved President Trump into a bunker in the White House as a precautionary measure against the protests outside White House. The reporters from within the White House confirmed that President Donald Trump spent close to an hour in the presidential bunker on the evening of 29 May. There were widespread protests across the U.S following the death of a 46-year-old African-American male named George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The National Guard was called upon in at least 15 states as well as Washington DC. When the protests turned violent outside the White House, the Secret Service allegedly moved the President into the bunker as a precautionary measure. The last time a president was rushed into the bunker was during the Al Qaeda attack on the twin towers in New York City in the year 2001. Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Judd Deere clarified that the White House would not comment on the safety protocols and decisions. Further, the Secret Service commented that they would not discuss the means and methods of presidential protection. Even though official sources from within the White House refused to comment on the matter, there have been no denials from them so far.
