Federal funding to the Public Assistance project has increased from 75 percent to 90 percent under Biden. Throughout February 2019, several areas in California were devastated by a series of storms, floods, and landslides, forcing hundreds of people to flee their homes. On March 26, 2019, Former President Donald Trump issued a major disaster declaration for the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians located in northern San Diego County whose communities had been severely damaged. This declaration limited funding to 75 percent of the total eligible costs. In March 2021, President Joe Biden amended the Cahuilla Band of Indians Disaster Declaration and the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians Disaster Declaration. The orders state that the federal shares provided have increased from 75 percent to 90 percent of total eligible costs. The assistance is mainly centered on developing the areas that are associated with these two tribes that have been severely affected
