A press release by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) validates the statement.Mohana Singh, Bhawana Kanth, and Avani Chaturvedi were India’s first women fighter pilots commissioned by the Indian Air Force (IAF) from the first batch (stage of training) on 25 June 2016 according to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Their achievements in the following years as pilots are reported by the Press Trust of India and All India Radio while iterating MEA's statement that they were the first female fighter pilots from India.
