Pune is the new Coronavirus hotspot among big cities in India after it recorded a total of 1.3 lakh cases.The coronavirus was detected in Pune at the very start of the outbreak in the country. Pune had a fewer number of cases than Mumbai for a very long time. However, the city has witnessed a recent surge in new cases which is attributed mainly to an increase in testing. The city has recorded 3,200 new Coronavirus cases on 16 Aug which took the total tally over 1.3 lakh. At present, Pune has the highest number of active cases in India with more than 41,000 patients which is almost four times that of Delhi.
