Many online services including voter services website in Pennsylvania experienced an outage for almost 24 hours. The voter services website via which the Pennsylvania voters can register their vote, find their polling place, and apply for a mail-in ballot was not in service for one day. The outage lasted for more than 24 hours which began at 5:30 p.m on October 3 and was restored on the day after morning. The Department of State's election online voter registration and mail ballot application were unavailable at the time of the outage. Secretary Boockvar clarified that the website outage was due to an issue with the contractor's equipment at a data center and they did not find any foul play or loss of data. However, the counties were able to process registrations and mail-in and absentee applications and ballots via alternative processes.
