The Henley Passport Index is the original ranking of all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The ranking is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world’s largest and most accurate database of travel information.
According to the Henley Passport Index 2020, Japan has the most powerful passport in the world. Travelers with a Japanese passport have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 191 different destinations. A close second, Singapore’s passport grants access to 190 destinations, with joint third taken by South Korea and Germany, with 189 accessible places each.
