True: The Indian Express and Business Standard have asked their staff to take salary cuts.

The Wire article and a petition by journalist unions confirm that news organisations have reduced the wages of their staff due to the lockdown.An article published by The Wire states that the National Alliance of Journalists (NAJ) and Delhi Union of Journalists (DUJ) have accused media owners of using the nationwide lockdown announced to combat the spread of COVID-19 as an excuse for reduction and temporary cuts in pay. It also states that The Indian Express and Business Standard have asked their staff to take salary cuts. As per Live Law, NAJ, DUJ, and the Brihan Mumbai Union of Journalists have jointly filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court seeking directions to ensure that journalists are not terminated or face reduced wages under the excuse of the nationwide lockdown.
