The Indian Army has captured the height at Finger 4 at the Pangong lake near Ladakh to fend off Chinese attempts to take over Indian land.Indian troops have seized a critical Chinese military post after allegedly fighting off an effort by the People's Liberation Army to occupy another Indian territory in Ladakh's disputed border region. India had a clash with the People's Liberation Army on the Himalayan border in a night operation where the Chinese had installed surveillance equipment. The Chinese Army has installed such equipment all along the Line of Actual Control to monitor Indian activities and respond whenever they find Indian patrols on the areas. The cameras and surveillance equipment have been removed after the Indian side occupied the fixed height within its territory. The Army occupied this height spot at Pangong Lake Finger 4 in Ladakh and uprooted the Chinese equipment. It was India's first offensive move after the clashes in May between the two countries. Thousands of soldiers took about six hours to claim the vantage points along the South bank of Pangong Tso. The Finger 4 feature on the North bank of Pangong Tso lake is located close to Chinese posts, just a few hundred meters from the Indian camp. It was the third time when the Chinese side tried to transgress into the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Indian Government accused Beijing of provocative military movements three months after Chinese troops annexed 60 square kilometers of Indian territory. The Chinese Foreign Ministry dismissed its troops crossed the disputed Line of Actual Control, which divides the two countries, and accused the Indian Army of conquering its territory.
