French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced that no major sporting events shall take place in France before September 2020.Addressing the media to update on France's strategy to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe alerted all event organisers not to conduct any sporting event in the country at least until September 2020. No major sporting or cultural events that bring together 5.000 people shall not take place in the country until the specified time period. The professional sporting seasons, especially football, will not be allowed to resume. Ligue 1, the top tier of the French professional football league, in response to the Prime Ministers remarks, held an emergency meeting and confirmed that they would adhere to the government's decisions and called for another meeting of the board of directors. After the next meeting on 30 April 2020, Ligue 1 will officially bring down the curtains to the 2019-20 season. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
