Seven European countries began using a digital COVID-19 certificate system on June 1 to ensure safe travel by confirming the holder's COVID-19 status.During the COVID-19 pandemic, the EU Digital COVID Certificate or Digital Green Certificate will ensure secure free movement of people throughout the European Union. The computerized record keeps track of whether a person has received complete COVID-19 vaccination, recovered from the virus, or tested negative for the virus within 72 hours. The regulation was scheduled to start from July 1. But seven European countries began using the union's digital certificate on June 1. In Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Croatia, and Poland, the EU Digital COVID Certificate became operational ahead of the scheduled time. The EU Digital COVID Certificate contains the following information: name, date of birth, date of issuance, vaccine/test/recovery information, and unique identity. This data stays on the certificate and is not kept or preserved when verified in member states. The European Commission states that each digital certificate comes in digital or paper versions and includes a QR code with a digital signature to guard against fabrication. Each issuing entity, such as a hospital, testing facility, or health authority, has its digital signature stored in a secure database in each country. The European Commission has developed a gateway to allow all certificate signatures to be confirmed throughout the European Union. June is a designated warm-up phase, according to the commission's timeline. If member countries are ready to issue and validate certifications, they can voluntarily launch the certificate. By July 1, the commission expects the system to be operational in all 27 member nations. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
