Vegan diets of plant-based foods without animal products can lower blood pressure. High blood pressure is a significant risk factor for heart disease.People who follow an entirely plant-based diet or vegan diet would have a lower blood pressure than their meat-eating counterparts. The main plant-based foods are vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes(beans and peas). The University of Warwick states that that consumption of a small amount of meat and dairy products, with these plant-based diets, can also lower blood pressure levels. High blood pressure is a significant risk factor for heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular diseases around the world. A decrease in blood pressure has essential health advantages both for individuals and for populations. Francesco Cappuccio, the senior author and professor of Warwick Medical School said that adopting plant-based dietary patterns would also play a role in global food sustainability and security.
