The lockdown imposed in Tamil Nadu due to COVID-19 is extended for another month until August 31, 2020.The Tamil Nadu government on July 30 announced the extension of COVID-19 lockdown in the state till August 31, but with more relaxations. The timings for shops and marketplaces have been extended, and are permitted to function from 6 am to 7 pm. Schools and colleges will remain closed until further notice. According to the latest CM guidelines, restrictions will remain the same in the state until August 31. On the five Sundays of August (2, 9, 16, 23, 30), there will be complete lockdown. Night curfew will be followed from 9 pm to 6 am. He added that there would be no relaxations in containment zones.
