The COVID-19 crisis hit several schools in the United Kingdom, where about 200 students were sent back home and advised to self-quarantine.A week after children began returning for the first time in September 2020 since lockdowns started in March, several schools across parts of the UK have been battling COVID-19 outbreaks. Several schools across England and Wales have reported the outbreaks, leading some to close down again while others sent the staff and pupils home to self-isolate. In Liverpool, around 200 pupils and 21 staff self-isolated following positive cases at five schools. In Suffolk, five teachers tested positive for COVID-19, leading the school to close, and in the Midlands, one of the teacher-tested positive. In Bradford, Leeds, Lancashire, Manchester, Nottingham, and Leicester, a few pupils and staff tested positive and were asked to self-isolate. The Somerset County Council Public Health stated that a confirmed case involving an 8-year-old student and the child was to self-isolate for 14 days.
