Production of the COVID-19 vaccine in the U.S. has increased and the country is due to meet targets on its vaccination program. On March 11, 2021, President Joe Biden made an announcement to make anyone who is 18 or over eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination no later than May 1. He added that not everyone would be vaccinated immediately, but that waiting lists could start at this time. Biden has also ordered an additional 100 million doses of the single-shot vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson to safeguard against manufacturing disruptions or other COVID variant outbreaks. It is known as the Janssen vaccine and is on track to provide enough shots to vaccinate about 100 million people in the first half of 2021. Pfizer and Moderna are to deliver 300 million doses each by the end of July. The Defense Production Act is being used to expedite critical vaccine production supplies. The figures of vaccine allocation and information on eligibility, emergency use, distribution, and providers are made available by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
