The amendment of Schedule 29 of the act is temporary due to the COVID-19 pandemic and requires landlords to give six months eviction notice. Before the amendment, according to the Coronavirus Act 2020, landlords in Wales were required to give a three months' notice to the tenants before eviction. The amendment was made on July 21, laid before the Welsh Parliament (Senedd Cymru) on July 23, and brought into force the next day. The act- passed for better management of the pandemic in the UK- expires after two years. So, the landlords are required to follow this temporarily during the public health emergency. It has met with criticism from landlords with various concerns for not receiving rent over the year.
