The Pune division of the Central Railway Zone has hiked the platform ticket charges to ₹50 to prevent overcrowding and maintain social distancing.On August 18, 2020, the Indian Railways spokesperson clarified that the platform ticket rates were increased from ₹10 to ₹50 at the Pune junction to prevent unnecessary visits to the station, in light of social distancing protocols imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The railway platform has been controlling ticket rates in a similar way since the pandemic's early days. But, the rates haven't been the same ever since and have reportedly gone down.
