The 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme will provide a 50% discount on meal at participating food establishments from each Monday to Wednesday in August. The hospitality sector, which plays a vital role in the UK, has been hit hard by the lockdown measures. The businesses have received significant government support through job retention schemes but still face significant challenges. In the wake of this, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the 'Eat Out to Help Out' initiative to help restart the economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. People who dine out will get a 50 percent discount off their bill under government plans up to £10 per head for everyone, including children. The discount applies to any participating establishments and can be used unlimited times every Monday to Wednesday on an eat-in meal, throughout August.
