Junior doctors designated for Covid-19 duty are all set to resign and will submit the resignation letters on September 10, 2020.Doctors appointed on temporary duty to COVID First-Line Treatment Centres (FLTCs) in Kerala are ready to submit their resignation over deductions in their wages. Nearly 870 junior doctors who were appointed by the Kerala government to treat patients who were infected by COVID-19 in these centers. It is reported that they were offered ₹42000/- wages per month. Doctors allege that their wages were cut from ₹42000 per month to ₹27000, the government has deducted ₹8400 in the name of the government’s salary challenge other than TDS and professional tax. However, the government is yet to assure the doctors who are on the verge of mass resignation. Doctors gave September 10, 2020, as a time limit to the government to reconsider its decision to deduct 20% of their wages along with other tax deductions.
