Research shows certain kinds of music help in memorizing faster while studying. There is no evidence that quantifies the change in memorising speed. Studies conducted have proven that music that is soothing and relaxing can help students to beat stress, or anxiety while studying. Music can have both positive and negative effects on studying, depending on the student and the music. The Mozart Effect is based on a theory that listening to classical music will make students smarter and is related to improved test scores. While studying, music can aid endurance, and reports suggest that music helps students with memorization, likely by creating a positive mood that indirectly boosts memory formation. But the drawback is music with vocals will worsen the working memory. There is not enough evidence which suggests that listening to music while studying can help memorize 5 times faster.
