The viral images are unrelated to the recent knife attack in Solingen, Germany, on August 23, 2024. An attacker armed with a knife killed at least three people and injured several others at a festival celebrating the 650th anniversary of Solingen's history. According to a Reuters report, German police stated that a 26-year-old Syrian man was arrested on Sunday in connection with the attack. The man reportedly turned himself in to the police and admitted to the crime. Authorities also also investigating the suspect's possible links with the Islamic State. Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the attack on their Telegram account, although the claim had not yet been verified, Reuters reported.
The viral photo is not connected to the recent stabbing incident in Solingen, Germany. The image dates back to 2021 and is from another incident that occurred in Wurzburg, Germany. Therefore, we have marked this claim as false.
