Misleading: The UK government has announced a grant pay of £100 a day to stay at home to avoid the spread of COVID-19 which is accessible to all, regardless of employment status.

It included loans and grants to support them to overcome the period of disruption caused by COVID-19. The details of the scheme mention that all those employees who have been asked to stop working will be provided with a grant worth 80% of an employee’s usual wages, up to £2,500 a month, and other benefits.
