Indian Army chief has categorically denied the claim regarding supply shortage at the Siachen base.India's Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Mukund Naravane, denied the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, stating that the highlighted equipment and ration shortage in high altitude areas, pertained to the year 2015-16 and so was antiquated. He also said that from four years, the Army had faced a critical shortage in snow goggles and inadequate supply of special ration for the troops, which affected their calorie intake by as much as 82 percent. However, he clarified that currently, the Army is better equipped and that the soldiers at the Siachen base were well looked after with better equipment, which included food and clothing.
