Official figures provided by the WHO shows that the U.S. has the highest number of infections and deaths compared with other nations individually. As per the 2019 population report published by the United Nations, the total population of the United States was 329,065,000, France - 65,130,000, Germany - 83,517,000, Italy - 60,550,000, UK - 67,530,000, and Spain - 46,737,000. The total population of France, Germany, Italy, the UK and Spain(262,687,000) is lower than that of the U.S. As per the figures provided by the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, the total number of cases in the U.S. is 839,675, France - 157,125, Germany - 150,648, Italy - 187,327, the UK - 134,638, and Spain - 208,389. The total number of cases of these countries together (838,127) is almost equal to that of the U.S. The figures provided by the research centre shows that the total number of deaths in the U.S is 46,583, France - 21,373, Germany - 5,279, Italy - 25,085, the UK - 18,151, and Spain - 21,717. The COVID-19 Situation Report released by the World Health Organisation (WHO) shows that the total number of COVID-19 deaths is 37,602 in the U.S., 20,763 in France, 4,879 in Germany, 24,648 in Italy, 17,337 in the UK and 21,282 in Spain. The individual comparisons of the total number of infections and deaths in the six countries show that the United States has the highest numbers. Comparing the U.S. figures with the other smaller counties combined would be misleading because the quarantine measures implemented by each country are different, including their healthcare systems. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
