The teen was sent to juvenile detention not just for incomplete online homework but also because it was one of the terms of her probation.Judge Mary Ellen Brennan presided over the Oakland County Family Court Division. The judge ruled that the fifteen-year-old black girl, identified by her middle name, 'Grace,' had violated the terms of her probation for facing an assault and theft charge in the previous year. One of the terms of the probation period was a requirement to do her schoolwork. She was sent to juvenile detention in May 2020 for not completing her school assignment, and she is to remain at the detention center until the next hearing on September 8, 2020. Oakland County Executive David Coulter said that he has spoken to the judge and is unable to share more details of the minor and the family to protect their privacy
