Sometimes election officials unintentionally enter results of one candidate at a time, rather than entering into all candidates together.
Sometimes election officials unintentionally enter results of one candidate at a time, rather than entering into all candidates together. FiveThirtyEight provides data-driven news and analysis. On Nov. 4, it stated on twitter that "two more batches of Pennsylvania vote were reported: -23,277 votes in Philadelphia, all for Biden, -about 5,300 votes in Luzerne County, nearly 4,000 of which were for Biden." This was misconstrued by many right-wing organizations which stated that because Biden won all the 23,277 votes in Pennsylvania, it amounted to voter fraud. However, FiveThirtyEighth later clarified that, according to Edison Research, sometimes election officials and vote tabulators unintentionally enter results of one candidate at a time, rather than entering into all candidates together. Other candidate's votes had then included in subsequent batches, which means that in this case, the election official first entered the votes for Biden and subsequently entered votes for Trump.
