Joe Biden wants to impose stricter regulations around gun control but does not advocate to take back Americans' gun rights. The Second Amendment gives the right to the citizens of the United States to keep and bear arms. While some Democrats have advocated repealing the Second Amendment, this stance is not being pursued by Democrats in Congress or by Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Biden has expressed support for the Second Amendment, saying that he is a gun owner himself. He does propose some firearm restrictions, such as a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Biden's plan includes mandating that people who own assault weapons sell them to the federal government or properly register them with the authorities. He also supports background checks and other regulations. In an interview with CNN, Biden said that he would implement a federal gun buyback program for assault weapons, but not all guns. Biden also said guns that had been legally purchased would not be confiscated. Moreover, to reduce the stockpiling of firearms, Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one. He planned to control illegal weapons and to control mass shootings in America. According to his policy, if the owners of assault rifles were not registering their weapons with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms under National Firearms Act, they have to sell them to the government.
