Biden's policy proposals do not indicate a complete ban on fracking or the abolishing of American oil, coal, shale and natural gas.

Biden's policy proposals do not indicate a complete ban on fracking or the abolishing of American oil, coal, shale and natural gas.Democratic presidential nominee Biden has made no such promises, nor do his policy proposals indicate a ban on fracking or the abolishment of American oil, coal, shale, and natural gas. Biden’s climate change plan would end new leases for hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, for oil and gas on federal lands. Still, it would not ban existing fracking on public lands or new or existing fracking on private land. Biden’s climate plan would not ban oil drilling and does not bar any specific method for extracting fossil fuels. As far as fossil fuels are concerned, Biden’s official campaign page says, “The Biden Administration will take action against fossil fuel companies and other polluters who put profit over people and knowingly harm our environment and poison our communities’ air, land, and water, or conceal information regarding potential environmental and health risks.” The Biden climate plan also includes reversing the excesses of the Trump tax cuts for corporations, reducing incentives for tax havens, evasion, and outsourcing, ensuring corporations pay their fair share, closing other loopholes in our tax code that reward wealth not work, and ending subsidies for fossil fuels.
