A 14-day lockdown was declared in Karnataka. The lockdown is scheduled to end on May 24 and has not yet been extended.Throughout Karnataka, all forms of movements and activities have been banned since 6 a.m. on May 10. The restrictions are scheduled to lift at 6 a.m. on May 24, 2021. Following a sudden rise in COVID-19 cases in Bangalore, the government declared a two-week "complete lockdown" to curb the outbreak's spread. Kamal Pant, Bengaluru's Commissioner of Police and Additional District Magistrate, said all activities would be banned in the city from May 10 until May 24. He added that anyone violating the order would be prosecuted. Kamal Pant explained that all shops and commercial outlets, restaurants, pubs, and bars would be closed during this time but, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., essential products and services such as food, medicine, milk, fruits, and vegetables will be available. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa responded to the situation by extending the lockdown by more stringent rules. Yediyurappa first announced the restrictions on April 26, 2021. We mark this claim as misleading, as the lockdown is still scheduled to end on May 24, and there has been no official announcement as to the extension of the lockdown.
