Three youths who claimed to be Muslims had escaped from the check post at Tendekere in Mandya district.According to the Sanmarga news dated 10 April 2020, Tahsildar Shivmurthy said that three youths from Ballekere village, named Mahesh, Abishek and Srinivas have been arrested by the police. They escaped from the check post at Tendekere near Jockey factory on 8 April threatening the policemen that they were Muslim youths and they have coronavirus infection and the same may spread to the check post personnel if they tried to catch them. An article by The Hindu states that the K.R. Pet tahsildar M. Shivamurthy had initially said that the 3 persons roaming around with quarantine seals on their hands were Muslims, but they did not belong to that particular community.
