Gujarat has the highest FDI inflow at the end of March 2021, with Telangana at the seventh place by beating Andhra Pradesh at the fifteenth place.On May 24, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry released a report that "India attracted highest ever total FDI inflow of U.S. $ 81.72 billion during 2020-21." The Ministry added that the government's measures on policy reforms, investment facilitation, and ease of doing business had increased FDI inflows into the country. In March 2021, Telangana was in reports after the quarterly reports were released on FDI inflows by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade(DIPP), highlighting Telangana beats Andhra Pradesh in attracting more FDI. Telangana amounted to 2.4 percent of India's total FDIs, with FDI worth Rs 11,331 crores (U.S. $1539.82 million) between October 2019 and December 2020, and stood at eighth place. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh stood in twelfth place with FDI worth Rs 1,975 crores (U.S. $272.76 million). According to the reports of DIPP from October 2019 to March 2021, Gujarat stood at first place with FDI worth U.S. $24481.25 million, Telangana stood at eighth place with FDI worth U.S. $1835.35 million, and Andhra Pradesh stood at the thirteenth place with FDI worth U.S. $291.80 million. In the financial year 2020-2021, Gujarat stood at first place with FDI worth U.S. $21890.17 million, and Telangana stood at seventh place with FDI worth U.S. $1155.49.
