Board exams for Grades 10 and 12 would be continued, with the existing system reformed to eliminate the need to undertake coaching classes.According to the National Education Policy 2020, all students in Grades 3, 5, and 8 would take school examinations that would be conducted by the appropriate authorities. Board exams for Grades 10 and 12 are redesigned with holistic development as the aim. The policy emphasizes regional language as the medium of instruction until Grade 5, and preferably until Grade 8 and beyond. Board exams would also be made easier since students would be tested primarily for core capacities or competencies rather than months of coaching and memorization (Refer to Page No.19).
