There are no official warnings that the forwarded good morning messages contain phishing codes designed to steal data. So, the claim is baseless.A message on social media claims that the good morning pictures and videos that people save and forward to others contain phishing codes designed to hack into the phone and steal personal data. Such messages are in circulation since 2018, and the claim is false. The technique of sharing malware in image video or other digital sources is called digital steganography and not phishing. Phishing is a technique in which a target or victim is contacted by email, telephone, or text message. Moreover, there is no memorandum issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology or the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or any other international organization regarding such phishing codes. Therefore it is clear that the message which is doing rounds on social media stating that forwarded good morning pictures and videos contain phishing codes, designed to hack into the phone and steal data, is a hoax.
