The story emerged after the airport issued a statement boasting about the arrivals of celebrity guests, including Johnson and former prime minister Tony Blair in recent days. Downing Street issued a firm rebuttal of the report saying that Johnson had held a meeting with Conservative MPs via Zoom on 11 September, and his son's son's baptism service was held the next day. Further, the backbencher Andrea Jenkyns gave a screengrab of Johnson on a Zoom call, which corroborated with the statement of the spokesman who said the story is untrue. The PM had not traveled to Italy in recent months. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Westminster Cathedral confirmed that baby Wilfred was baptized into the Catholic church in a private service on 12 September by Father Daniel Humphreys.
