Phase three of the vaccination drive allows anyone over 18 in India to register and get vaccinated. The Hindustan Times reported that on April 22, 2021, some media reports cited a statement by the National Health Authority chief, RS Sharma saying that the registration process for the third phase would begin in two days. This led to some confusion that the government immediately cleared. On April 22, 2021, the government announced that the registration for the third phase of vaccination against COVID-19 for those between the age groups of 18 and 45 years would begin on April 28, 2021. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan and the Ministry of Health have confirmed the same. According to the ministry, the COWIN portal for registration will be ready for over 18s by April 24, 2021, and they can begin the registration process by April 28, 2021. It was also highlighted that unlike phase 1 and phase 2, walk-in registrations would not be allowed. Everyone included in phase 3 should register either on the COWIN platform or the Aarogya Setu app from April 28, 2021. Upon successful registration, the date and time for getting the shots will be allotted as per the respective regions.
