A video of Trump posing for a selfie with people appears to be from May 2024, not after the assassination attempt.
What is the claim?
A video of former United States President Donald Trump meeting fans and taking selfies with them has been shared on social media platforms, claiming that Trump is "cracking jokes" days after he was shot at a rally in Pennsylvania. His right ear was injured, and one person died in the attack.
An X (formerly Twitter) user shared the video with the caption, "Someone threw gravel at Justin Trudeau and pursued charges for over 2 years. This guy got shot on the weekend and is already cracking jokes." The post had 662,900 views and 3,500 likes. An archive of the post can be found here.

However, the claim is false. The video predates the attack on Trump in Pennsylvania.
What we found
We noticed a watermark of a TikTok account on the viral video. We found the same video on the TikTok account (archived here) from May 2024. The caption reads, "PRESIDENT Donald J Trump playing golf this weekend in the INCREDIBLE STATE OF TEXAS!!! HUUUUUUUUUGE NRA speech yesterday in Dallas by your next President, PRESIDENT Donald J Trump!!!! TRUMP 2024!" The user shared the same video on their Instagram account (archive here) in May. This shows that this video was online before the assassination attempt.

The caption credited the person believed to have taken the video. That Instagram account is currently private.
The now-viral video appears to have been recorded at the golf course in Dallas in May 2024. USA Today reported that on May 18, 2024, Trump played golf with CBS Sports NFL broadcaster Tony Romo at a golf course in Dallas, Texas. Trump confirmed that he had played golf with Tony during his speech at a National Rifle Association convention in Dallas.
The verdict
An old video of Donald Trump taking selfies with fans at a golf course in Dallas has been shared with the false claim that it is recent, days after the assassination attempt on the former U.S. President.
