However, this video is from 2020 and does not show an explosion at Cairo Airport.

What we found

Through a reverse image search using the keyframes from the viral clip, Logically Facts found the video on YouTube shared by the Telegraph (archived here) dated July 16, 2020. The title read, "Ruptured crude oil pipeline sets off a huge fire in Egypt."

The description under the video noted that a ruptured crude oil pipeline caused the massive fire on the road linking Cairo to Ismailia on the Suez Canal. Additionally, Egypt's health ministry reported that 12 people with burns and smoke inhalation were hospitalized.

Sky News also published the video on July 15, 2020, with a headline stating that the pipeline explosion injured over 17 people on the Cairo Motorway. The caption under the video highlighted the significant impact of the explosion, emphasizing the number of injuries and that about 20 cars were damaged due to the explosion.

A Google search also led us to several mainstream media networks, including the Associated Press and Reuters, covering the ruptured crude oil pipeline that caused a massive explosion in Egypt in 2020. This proves that the video is outdated and not recent.

Logically Facts found no mainstream reports indicating a significant fire at Cairo airport or in the vicinity of El-Salam City.
