Fact-Check

The Verdict False

The quote is fake and comes from the satirical website bustatroll.org. There is no genuine evidence Harris said the words attributed to her.

Context

A post on X (formerly Twitter) recently shared an image that claims to show an alleged Kamala Harris quote from 2020. In it, she says "Once Trump's gone and we [Democrats] have regained our rightful place in the White House, look out if you supported him and endorsed his actions because we'll be coming for you next." The alleged quote also says she said Trump supporters should “look out” and that they would “feel the vengeance of a nation.” The full quote can be seen in the image below.

Beyond the alleged quote, the text claims, “Yes, she really said this” and states that she made a “clear and expressed threat.”

The X post and image were shared in the context of Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 United States presidential election and his endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as the official presidential nominee.

However, the quote is fake, and there is no evidence that Harris ever said these words.

In fact

A Google reverse image search showed that the quote image had been shared earlier in 2024 on X, and direct searches on X found that the same quote with a different image was shared back in 2021. The claim that this quote is genuine is not recent and has circulated for years. These posts do not provide any additional information or a source for when or where Harris allegedly said the quote. When searching for the quote there is no record of Harris saying these words.

The quote itself comes from the satirical website bustatroll.org and does not originate from any reliable or official source or video of Harris talking. The satirical article, published in 2019, is titled "Kamala Harris: 'After we impeach, we round up the Trump Supporters’.” The article claims Harris said the quote at a fundraising event, but the article is listed on the site under the “satire” and “conservative fan fiction” tags.

Bustatroll’s “about us” section states that it is a subsidiary of the “America’s Last Line of Defense” parody and satire network.

The claim has recently been shared alongside Harris's endorsement as a means to discredit her and suggest she wants to harm Trump supporters. Following Biden’s announcement, Logically Facts has checked other false and misleading claims about Harris, which can be found here.

The verdict

Kamala Harris did not say Trump supporters will feel the “vengeance of a nation." The entire alleged quote was not said by Harris and comes from a satirical website. Therefore, we have marked this claim as false.
