The coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed 2,083 lives in the state, whereas, 247 people were killed in car crashes between Jan and Aug 2020.As of Oct 6, the COVID-19 pandemic has claimed 2,083 lives in the state of Minnesota, with 104,799 confirmed cases, as per the data shared on Minnesota’s COVID-19 response website. On the other hand, the state’s Traffic Safety data of 2020 shows that 247 people were killed in car crashes between January and August. In 2019, 236 people died due to similar reasons. Therefore, COVID-19 has claimed far more lives in the state than the deaths due to road accidents. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
