Joe Biden's coronavirus advisory board said that there was no plan to lockdown the country. In an interview with Yahoo Finance on Nov. 11, 2020, Dr. Michael Osterholm, a coronavirus advisor to President-elect Joe Biden, said a nationwide lockdown would help to bring the virus under control in the U.S. while shutting down businesses and paying people for four to six weeks could help to control the deadly virus until a vaccine approved and distributed. Later, Osterholm clarified in an interview with ABC on Nov. 12, 2020, that he did not discuss a lockdown with anyone on the advisory board, and he did not think there was a national consensus for it. Joe Biden’s coronavirus advisory board on Nov. 12, 2020, said that there was no plan for a nationwide lockdown and that the new administration’s approach would be targeted at specific areas. Neither the advisory board leader Dr. Vivek Murthy nor Biden's other advisor Dr. Celine Gounder has mentioned the idea of a national lockdown.
