The viral video of the Indian army demolishing Chinese bunkers actually belongs to a rescue operation in Uttarakhand.India and China announced that they have agreed to a mutual disengagement of troops along LAC in Ladakh after months of a military standoff. Meanwhile, a viral video has surfaced on the internet, claiming that the Indian Army demolished Chinese bunkers near Pangong Tso Lake banks. We tried to ascertain the news and found that the video and images of the rescue operation from Raini village in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district are being falsely shared to claim that the Indian Army is demolishing Chinese bunkers. The Twitter handle of ITBP posted images of the search operation at Raini village, which was carried out with the help of NDRF for those missing due to the glacier burst. ANI News reported the incident and posted the video footage of the rescue operation, and the same video is used to falsely claim the Army's operations. Chamoli in Uttarakhand had witnessed massive flash floods that were triggered due to a glacier burst causing much destruction and loss of lives. This glacier burst had damaged two power projects with scores of laborers trapped in tunnels.
