The viral video which claimed to show the Indian army removing Chinese bunkers is actually from the rescue operation in Chamoli's glacial disaster. India and China withdrew their troops and tanks from the Pangong Tso lake banks in Ladakh in February 2021. On Feb. 16, the Indian army released some pictures of Chinese troops' withdrawal from the Pangong Tso area. Army troops of both countries were deployed to the lake area for the last ten months. Later, a video went viral on social media, purporting that the Indian army removed all the Chinese bunkers from the lake's bank using JCBs. A few workers wearing uniforms can be seen in the video. However, the video and some images were related to Uttarakhand's Chamoli district's glacial disaster. The footage was from the rescue operation executed by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police(ITBP). The video was published by ITBP through their official Twitter handle on Feb. 15, with a caption that the ITBP personnel and other organizations are looking for persons missing in the disaster. The Chamoli disaster's rescue operation video was misattributed to China's withdrawal from the Pangong lake.
