False: Joe Biden is connected to Antifa

A website called antifa.com redirected its viewers to JoeBiden.com, prompting people to claim that Joe Biden is connected to the Antifa movement.According to the National Post, on August 12, a website named after the anti-fascist campaign Antifa was redirecting its viewers to Joe Biden's presidential campaign website. The article claims that viewers searching for antifa.com were being sent to JoeBiden.com. An article from The Independent stated that this prompted several people to claim that Joe Biden was connected to the Antifa. However, according to a Snopes.com article, the redirect link and website were removed as of August 13. The redirect appears to have been reactivated as of August 30th, 2020, however there remains no official connection between Biden and Antifa. Anybody who has access to a domain can establish either a temporary or permanent URL redirect to another site. Therefore, any accusations linking the democrats and the Antifa are baseless. UPDATE: This fact check was updated on August 30th, 2020 to reflect the fact that the redirect has once again become active.
