The Gujarat Health and Family Welfare in a tweet on 15 April 2020 dismissed the claim that hospital in Ahmedabad has slipt the COVID wards on faith. The Gujarat health department clarified in a tweet that media reports stating that a civil hospital for COVID-19 in Ahmedabad had separate wards for patients of different religion are baseless and true. The News 18 and Times Now reported that Gujarat Health Department said COVID19 patients were treated on the basis of symptoms, severity and according to the doctor's recommendation but not on the basis of religion. Further, the Ahmedabad Collector KK Nirala had also denied such reports. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
