The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, responsible for the management of gurdwaras, released a statement denying the claim. A post went viral on social media claiming that Sri Harmandir Sahib i.e., Golden Temple in Amritsar, will bear the complete expenses of ventilators and PPE kits of the state of Punjab. The claim was shared was multiple users on different social media platforms. On April 14, 2020, The Quint released an article that stated that Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPG) denied the claim. An official in the SGPG told The Quint that the Golden Temple is not donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits and ventilators. The temple is currently helping people by serving food to those in need, and their hospital is well equipped to help people with the coronavirus. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
