A video of food packets deposited on the street in Turkey is from January and was for people hit by a deadly earthquake in the Turkish city of Elazig.A viral 22-second video showing food packets deposited on the street in Turkey has been circulating on the internet with the claim that people in Turkey donated food during the COVID-19 national lockdown to help people who could not earn money or had anything to eat during the lockdown. The post was shared on almost all social media websites, including Facebook and Twitter, and has been viewed millions of times. However, while the video is from Turkey, it was not from the time when the country was in a total lockdown. This video was first posted on Facebook by a group called 'Hand For Children" on January 25, almost two months before Turkey recorded its first case. The video shows donations for victims of a deadly earthquake that hit the Turkish city of Elazig in January 2020.
