The U.S. National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organisation state that there are no specific remedies to prevent COVID-19 as of yet.A message has been circulated on social media stating that drinking hot water with lemon and baking soda (lemon- bicarbonate mixture) could prevent coronavirus and that everyone in Israel does it. The NIH and WHO have clarified that there is no specific medicine found to prevent or cure the illness caused by COVID-19 as of 30 March 2020. The WHO has also listed the myths surrounding the prevention of COVID-19 and its remedies. As per the WHO, the basic protective measures against the novel coronavirus are frequent hand wash, maintenance of social distancing, and respiratory hygiene. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
