The Verdict False

Based on the available evidence, we conclude that Kevin Seefried is a Trump supporter.

Based on the available evidence, we conclude that Kevin Seefried is a Trump supporter. The viral photo of Kevin Seefried, who carried a Confederate flag into the U.S. Capitol during the attack on the building, is circulating on social media, along with the claim that he is a registered Democrat and a supporter of President Joe Biden. The post also cites a listing of the "voterrecords.com" website to prove that he is a Democrat. However, this claim is false. Kevin Seefried and his son, Hunter Seefrieds were arrested for illegally entering into the government building and obstructing government duties by engaging in violent activities. They were arrested along with dozens of people who tried to block Biden's confirmation as President at Capitol Hill. According to the charging document, Seefried had traveled from Delaware to Washington, D.C., on January 6, to hear former President Donald Trump's speech at a rally before the insurrection took place. He explained that he had brought the Confederate flag from his home in Delaware, where it is displayed outside. The voter registration listing cited in the post mentions Seefried's year of birth as 1986. But credible news reports have cited his age as 51, which means that he was born in 1970, and we can assume that voter records most probably belonged to a different person with the same name from Delaware. Seefrieds were caught after the FBI was tipped off to the father and son's identity when a co-worker of Hunter told law enforcement officials the son "bragged about being in the Capitol with his father," according to court documents. Both Kevin and Hunter Seefried participated in "voluntary" interviews with the FBI and confirmed their attendance at the Capitol, according to the investigators.
